How it works

Three steps. Under a minute.

FireDash pulls hydrant data straight from local fire departments. No more guessing distances or calling city hall.

1. Enter your address

We show every fire hydrant within a half mile, ranked by distance, with flow and condition data when your department shares it.

2. Download proof for insurance

One-click PDF with GPS coordinates, calculated distance, hydrant ID, last test date, and the issuing fire department.

3. Report what you see

Leaking? Blocked? Hit by a car? Snap a photo and tag the hydrant — your department gets the report in real time.

Built for insurance

Distance to a fire hydrant can save you up to 15% on homeowners insurance.

Most carriers ask whether you live within 1,000 feet of a fire hydrant. Generic answers won't cut it — they want documentation. FireDash gives you a verified, dated PDF straight from your department's records.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Yes. Looking up hydrants, downloading the insurance proof PDF, and reporting issues are all free. Premium features (multi-property accounts, historical reports) are an optional upgrade.

Directly from the fire departments that use FireDash to manage their hydrants. If your department isn't on FireDash yet, you can still submit a hydrant location and we'll route it to them.

Most carriers accept it as supporting documentation. We include GPS coordinates, the hydrant ID, the issuing department, and a tamper-evident signature. If your carrier needs a specific format, let us know and we'll add it.

Your local department receives the report inside their FireDash dashboard. You can track its status (submitted, in review, dispatched, resolved) from your Activity tab and we'll email you when it changes.
